IPoVSAT comms for Newfield Exploration (June 2004)
Schlumberger’s high tech satellite-based communications offer voice, email and data to the Gulf.Houston-based Newfield Exploration has selected Schlumberger Information Solutions for the provision of a high bandwidth, dedicated satellite link to its Gulf of Mexico offshore operations. The link is built around a high-speed Internet Protocol over Very Small Aperture Terminal (IPoVSAT ).

IPoVSAT technology provides two-way email and Internet-based communications over a satellite network using a cost-effective method of sharing network capacity.
