Emerson, Intergraph interoperability boost (December 2006)

Deal to ‘streamline’ plant automation data management, connecting PlantWeb and SmartPlant.

Emerson Process Management has teamed with Intergraph to streamline data management of automation projects and plants by delivering interoperability between Emersons DeltaV digital automation system, a core component of the companys PlantWeb digital plant architecture, and Intergraphs SmartPlant Instrumentation software. The deal promises enhanced bi-directional integration between PlantWebs digital architecture and the SmartPlant Enterprise suite. Emersons DeltaV automation system will be integrated with SmartPlant Instrumentation. A bi-directional data exchange will speed configuration and documentation of PlantWeb projects and provide lifecycle engineering support for operation and maintenance of process plants.

Schleiss

Duncan Schleiss, EPS VP, said, SmartPlant is used by all the engineering procurement companies and owner operators with which we do business. The integrated SmartPlant Enterprise strategy is one of the primary components in the industry trend toward interoperability.
